This Browning is in immaculate condition! Well taken care of with a 5 digit serial number (57113) that places the manufacture date in 1927! You will not find this again as it comes from a private collection. I just sold a 4 digit from same collector in half the condition as this one. Bore is clean and bright. Does not have suicide safety as the 4 digit did. Still overall condition of this shotgun is a solid 90% or higher.
The Browning Auto-5 is a semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. This pre–World War II example features a steel receiver paired with a walnut stock, reflecting Browning’s early production materials and design. The action operates on a recoil-driven mechanism typical of the Auto-5 series, and the shotgun has a standard capacity of five rounds. The configuration represents Browning’s original long-recoil system that became a hallmark of the model’s early era.
The shotgun is used and shows the characteristics expected of a firearm produced before World War II. The steel receiver and walnut furniture display the period-correct construction associated with Belgian manufacture. The semi-automatic action design allows for rapid cycling compared to manually operated shotguns of its time, and the 12-gauge chambering supports a broad range of ammunition types compatible with the Auto-5 platform. No additional finish or modification details are specified beyond the original steel and walnut components.
Included are the core components integral to the shotgun’s configuration: the steel receiver, walnut stock, and internal magazine system with a five-round capacity. No accessories, spare parts, or packaging details are listed. The firearm represents Browning’s prewar production style, identifiable by its materials and mechanical layout consistent with early Auto-5 manufacture.
